Against the backdrop of deepening cooperation between China and Russia in the equipment manufacturing sector, STON recently welcomed an important international visitor. The purchasing director from a leading Russian metallurgical processing company traveled specifically to STON’s production base in Qingdao’s West Coast New Area to conduct an inspection and survey, focusing on the technical capabilities of their automated sheet metal processing lines and high-end bending equipment. This visit not only resulted in a preliminary agreement to purchase two flexible bending centers but also propelled both sides into substantive negotiations regarding customized intelligent production lines, becoming another example of “Qingdao Intelligent Manufacturing” connecting with the Northeast Asian market.

In early November, accompanied by the general manager of Shengtong Machinery, the overseas procurement team visited the CNC bending machine production workshop, the automated production line testing area, and the R&D center. A Russian-speaking technical specialist provided simultaneous explanations throughout the visit. In the bending equipment manufacturing area, the overseas procurement team focused on inspecting the core components of the STON-C2 bending center and used a precision measuring instrument to test bending samples on the spot. When the data showed that the error was consistently within the ±0.02mm range, he nodded repeatedly, saying, “This level of precision fully meets our processing requirements for new energy battery casings, and it’s more cost-effective than the European equipment we currently use.”

In the automated flexible production line demonstration area, a multi-station processing unit integrated with an AGV intelligent logistics system was conducting simulated production. The entire process, from steel plate loading to finished product sorting, required no human intervention. Russian manufacturing is accelerating its intelligent transformation, and this integrated production line can help us increase production efficiency by at least 30%. The visiting team recorded videos of the equipment in operation while asking accompanying technicians about equipment adaptation solutions for extremely cold environments. The STON R&D director then presented a low-temperature hydraulic system solution customized for the Russian climate, and its special lubricant technology resistant to -40℃ was highly praised by the visitors.

Currently, both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding, agreeing that the STON technical team will conduct on-site surveys at the Russian customer’s factory in January 2026 to customize the final solution. Industry analysts point out that with the commissioning of STON’s new base and the deepening of international cooperation, it is expected to capture more than 15% of the Russian mid-to-high-end bending machine market before 2027, becoming a leading force in sheet metal equipment exports in North China.
